  • ICARUS @ FET2RIN Training

The ICARUS Project is glad to announce its participation to the FET2RIN Training from March 2018 to May 2018, in Brussels. The FET2RIN training supports FET projects to reach out investors and make a larger impact on society. It aims at facilitating collaborations to set the ground for the take up of Future and Emerging Technologies and FET projects by overcoming obstacles related to market acceptancy and accessing business leaders including entrepreneurs, early stage investors and crowdfunding communities.

The ICARUS Consortium, takes advantage of this great opportunity in order to get empowered on how to better validate research results and how to connect with early stage investors and crowdfunding sources.

  • ICARUS in the January 2018 issue of the European Aeronautics Science Network Newsletter

An ICARUS related article has been published in the January issue of the European Aeronautics Science Network Newsletter highlighting the significant progress of the project.

"Having completed a first full year of operations, the research units involved in the ICARUS project are in the position of providing significant outcomes to foster progress in the future. Classical thermodynamics, Nano-Calphad and multiscale modelling techniques are combined into a unique predictive tool that will enable the exploration and design of new binary and multinary nanostructured metal alloys. The final aim is to obtain metal alloys with enhanced mechanical properties, coarsening resistance and radiation damage tolerance".

  • ICARUS M12 Progress and Action Check Meetings

On the 26th and 27th of October 2017 the ICARUS Consortium conducted the M12 Progress and Action Check Meetings respectively in Brussels, Belgium.

The yearly (12M) Progress Meeting was held at ENEA - EU Liaison Office; The meeting aimed at presenting the progress performed during the ICARUS second semester while, in the same time, it provided the opportunity for extensive discussions and exchange of ideas among partners on their future activities.

The M12 Action Check Meeting was hosted at the Covent Garden Building bringing together the consortium partners, the European Commission Project Officer and the EC reviewers. The main objective of the M12 review meeting was to present the scientific and technical achievements of the project during the past twelve months and provide sufficient information to allow the EC to perform the project assessment against the applicable Description of Work.

In the end of the meeting the European Commission Project Officer and the EC reviewers provided their valuable feedback to the ICARUS partners and concluded that important work has been performed during this period.
