ICARUS dedicated Session @ the 8th EASN-CEAS International Workshop

The ICARUS project is delighted to announce its participation in the 8th EASN-CEAS International Workshop on “Manufacturing for Growth & Innovation”, which will take place between 04 and 07 September, 2018 at the University of Glasgow, UK .

Over the years the EASN conference has been established as a major European Dissemination event. The 7th international gathering of the EASN Association was attended by more than 350 researchers from various disciplines who presented their high quality recent achievements and new upstream research ideas.

The ICARUS project will exploit this opportunity and disseminate its results and achievements in a dedicated session that will be held on the 6th of September, 2018 at Sir Charles Wilson building, Lecture Theatre from 14:40 until 16:20 and will be chaired by Nicolas Cordero (University of Burgos). The project will introduce its current progress and upcoming results through the following presentations:

1. Modelling, fabrication and characterization of nanocrystalline metal alloys for the aerospace sector: The ICARUS Project – Overview (N. Cordero).
2. Prediction of mechanical properties of nanocrystalline materials using Voronoi FE models of representative volume elements (P. Bazios, K. Tserpes, S. Pantelakis)
3. Thermodynamic modelling of the stability of nanograined polycrystals (G. Kaptay, A. Dezso)
4. Development and evaluation of nano-grains in tungsten based MMC ( G. Gergely, D. Pethő, T. Mikó, M. Svéda, F. Kristály, K.Bohács, A. Roósz, Z. Gácsi)
5. Facile microstructural SEM characterization and accelerated testing for fast screening of nanostructured materials in powder metallurgy ( A. Rinaldi , C. Mingazzini, D. Mirabile Gattia, E. Serra , U. De Angelis, F. La Torre, F. Delogu, A. Locci , A. Bianchin).

We will be more than happy to meet you there!
